Samsung’s Support Policy: Devices Currently Eligible for Updates

by | May 14, 2025 | Tutorial

Every month, Samsung releases new security updates for Galaxy devices. These updates contain dozens of patches addressing vulnerabilities across various system apps and services. We are talking about vulnerabilities across core Android OS services as well as Galaxy components. Some of those patches come from Google and other Android OS partners, while others are pushed directly by Samsung.

However, not all Galaxy smartphones and tablets get these updates every month. Samsung prioritizes flagships and newer midrange models over aging and budget devices. It pushes monthly releases to some devices, while others get the updates once in about three or six months, depending on their age and category. If you are wondering whether your Galaxy is eligible for monthly updates, you’ll find your answer here.

Below, you’ll find the full list of Galaxy devices currently eligible for monthly, quarterly, and biannual security updates. Note that Samsung may drop devices from monthly to quarterly or biannual updates anytime, as per its current software support policy. We regularly update this article to reflect the latest changes. The last update was made on May 14, 2025.

If your device isn’t on the list, it means Samsung has officially ended update support for it. You should consider upgrading to a newer device.
