Samsung recently released One UI 7.0 beta updates for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. It is the company’s latest One UI 7.0 build and brings some new features, but it’s still far from perfect. We have noticed some inconsistencies proving that Samsung still has work to do before the stable release.
One UI 7.0 is still a work in progress, but time’s running out
One glaring issue is that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 still uses the old charging animation on its cover screen. While the main UI has adopted a new, more refined charging effect, the animation on the external display hasn’t been updated to match. This inconsistency makes the experience feel unpolished, as if the update was rushed without full optimization for all screen types.

Another design misstep is the battery icon, which remains oddly large and slightly distorted. Samsung revamped the status bar visuals in One UI 7.0, but the battery icon still looks out of place compared to other UI elements. Instead of a sleek, modern look seen on the Galaxy S25 series, the battery icon on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 is a bit bulky.
This UI inconsistency throws off the balance of the status bar. Interestingly, the battery icon looked normal in the first two One UI 7.0 beta builds Samsung released for the Galaxy S24 series. The unusually large icon was introduced with Beta 3 in early January. The company has since rolled out Beta 4 and two hotfixes without tweaking the battery icon.
The first beta update for the 2024 foldable duo doesn’t touch it either. These small but noticeable issues highlight that One UI 7.0 still needs fine-tuning. With the stable release confirmed for April, Samsung has some time to refine these details. However, it has already taken a long time to release One UI 7.0. Hopefully, the firm can address these minor flaws ahead of the stable update next month.
