Samsung Smart Monitor M8 to Receive 7 Years of OS Updates

Samsung’s 2025 smart monitor lineup has several models, including the Smart Monitor M8. While the company revealed its features earlier, its software update policy remained under wraps. It has now been revealed that the new monitor will receive seven years of OS updates.

Powered by Tizen OS, the Smart Monitor M8 brings a smart TV experience, with AI picture optimization capability for optimal picture quality. You can stream TV channels and on-demand content directly from your monitor, thanks to the Samsung TV Plus platform. As for software updates, Samsung intends to offer its monitor users a seamless experience over time.

In its Smart Monitor M8 product page, Samsung notes, “Enjoy a personalized screen and Samsung’s innovative features with One UI Tizen based on Samsung’s Tizen OS. In addition, we support OS upgrades for up to 7 years so that you can enjoy the amazing latest features of the smart monitor for longer”.

Speaking of its key specs, the Smart Monitor M8 features a 32-inch VA panel with 4K resolution and 400 nits brightness. The screen supports a 60Hz refresh rate, 4ms response time, and HDR10+. It delivers a 178-degree wide viewing angle and includes a bunch of eye-friendly features such as Eye Saver Mode and Flicker-Free technology. Thanks to its powerful NQM AI processor, its AI upscaling feature can turn lower-resolution content up to nearly 4K.

Regarding security, Samsung’s Knox Security platform offers robust protection for your IoT connections to the monitor. On top of that, a built-in hardware chip helps protect sensitive information from physical attacks.
