Samsung Silently Makes a Big Impact — Over $22 Million Donated

While Samsung is often recognized for its technological innovation, the company has also been quietly driving meaningful global change. On the occasion of UN Day (October 24), Samsung revealed that its Global Goals app has surpassed $22 million in cumulative donations. These donations support worldwide efforts toward peace, sustainability, and social progress.

Samsung Global Goals turns out to be a quiet but powerful campaign

Launched in 2019 in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Samsung Global Goals app was created to help raise awareness and funds for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Quality Education, Climate Action, and Life Below Water. The app comes pre-installed on Galaxy phones, tablets, and watches, and can also be downloaded from app stores.

Users can also set Global Goals wallpapers on their devices to support the cause. Each wallpaper highlights a specific UN goal and helps raise awareness about its importance. Users can also donate directly or allow Samsung to use ad-generated revenue from their wallpaper to contribute funds. For every ad-based donation, Samsung matches the contribution, effectively doubling the impact.

As of September 2025, the app boasts over 50 million monthly active users. More importantly, it had generated more than $22 million in donations by the end of June 2025. The total amount includes user ad revenue, direct contributions, and Samsung’s matching funds. This means that every user who chose to display Global Goals wallpapers on their Galaxy device has, in effect, contributed to making the world a better place.

According to Samsung, users have shown the strongest interest in the SDGs focusing on No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Clean Water and Sanitation, Good Health and Well-being, and Quality Education. These themes reflect the collective priorities of millions of Galaxy users participating in Samsung’s quiet revolution for peace and sustainability. You can download the Global Goals app here.
