Samsung Shares Official Galaxy Z Fold 7 Teaser — “Ultra” Model Incoming

Samsung is gearing up for the next big Unpacked event next month. We expect the company to show off the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Flip FE, and the Galaxy Watch 8 series in the second week of July. The Z Fold 7 already has a lot of hype, with several leaks revealing larger screens for the main and cover displays. Samsung just added fuel to the fire for Galaxy fans. In an official newsroom post, the brand shared a teaser declaring that the era of Ultra foldables is here.
A short GIF shows an illuminated outline of the familiar Galaxy Fold form-factor. It is clear that this new device has a noticeably larger cover display, thanks to a wider build. Next, the device unfolds and reveals a large main display with a wider aspect ratio than previous models.
It is worth noting that the corners of the device appear much rounder than those found on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 or even the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. There isn’t much else to observe from the GIF.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra in the pipeline?
The content of this newsroom post from Samsung is incredibly vague, with a short blurb describing the ideal device for your commute, night out, and gaming on the go. However, the company sparked speculation with one particular word — Ultra — which has been whispered just enough times to stir curiosity.
“For years, Samsung has listened to users asking for bigger screens, better cameras and new ways to connect and create. The demand is clear — an Ultra-experience that goes beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a smaller and more portable form factor,” Samsung said. “With industry-leading hardware, cutting-edge performance and seamless AI integration optimized for the foldable format, it’s what users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra.”
The post itself is titled: “Meet the Next Chapter of Ultra.” Samsung even signs off saying, “The Ultra experience is ready to unfold.” Could this mean the company is readying a Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra? Or is Samsung setting the stage for a foldable that delivers an Ultra experience, rather than wear the name? We believe it’s the latter, though you never know. The chances of two separate Fold 7 and Fold 7 Ultra are really, really slim.
Nonetheless, this post is sure to get Galaxy fans pumped for the launch. The closing line of the post discusses new AI features designed specifically for foldables. We’ve long expected new Galaxy AI features to debut in July at Unpacked. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be one of the first phones to launch with One UI 8.
