Samsung SDI announced today that it will unveil its newest battery products at the InterBattery Europe 2025 event. The company says it will showcase several next-generation battery products, mainly designed for the emerging era of artificial intelligence. The Korean firm aims to lead the growing AI market with its innovative solutions.
Samsung SDI will take center stage in five exhibition zones
InterBattery Europe is an exhibition within The Smarter E Europe, Europe’s Largest Alliance of Exhibitions for the Energy Industry. It will take place at Messe Munich, Germany, from May 7 to May 9, 2025. Taking advantage of the event, Samsung SDI will reveal its battery products and eco-friendly technologies in five exhibition zones: SBB 1.5, AI Data Center, Prismatic Tech Hub, Battery Showroom, and Net Zero Gate.
Under the slogan ‘InCelligent Life, Always ON,’ the Korean firm will display a full-size Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for AI data centers. Additionally, with its containerized Energy Storage System (ESS) that utilizes eco-friendly renewable energy, Samsung SDI will try to capture the attention of global visitors.
The next-gen UPS is powered by the firm’s new U8A1 battery that provides backup power to AI data centers during outages. It features the highest power output in the industry to provide the equivalent amount of power supplies with fewer batteries.
The company says implementing its battery in the UPS can reduce the necessary installation space by about 33% compared to the previous models. On top of that, it offers high performance with maximum safety, making it an optimized solution for AI data centers.
Samsung SDI will also showcase a full-size version of its SBB 1.5 at the event. SBB 1.5 is a large collection of ESS batteries inside a 20-foot container, including battery cells, modules, racks, safety devices, and a ventilation system. Its specialty is that users can operate it right away after connecting it to the power grid.
Samsung SDI will showcase its other products and meet with customers
The company will also showcase its prismatic battery products and technologies at the event, under the slogan ‘Samsung SDI’s prismatic is the answer’. It will set up a battery showroom to showcase its lineup of battery products and technologies, including 46-series cylindrical and All Solid Battery (ASB) batteries. Additionally, it will spotlight its major ESG activities and achievements at the Net Zero Gate zone.
During the event, Samsung SDI will meet with global customers to share its latest technology and promote its products. It will also give a keynote speech at Battery Day Europe, which is part of the InterBattery Europe event.
