Samsung Rolls Out One UI 8 for Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung has officially kicked off the stable One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S24 series. As expected, the rollout has begun in South Korea, starting with beta testers. A wider release for all users is expected to follow shortly, with more Galaxy devices receiving One UI 8 in the coming days.

Galaxy S24 series also grabs the One UI 8 stable update

Earlier today, Samsung pushed One UI 8 to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and Fold SE. The company has now released the update for the Galaxy S24 lineup. While Korean beta users are the first to get it, the update should soon hit non-beta units, including the Galaxy S24 FE. It should be followed by a global rollout.

Debuted in early 2024, the Galaxy S24 series received One UI 7 (Android 15) in April. Just a few months later, Samsung has moved these devices to One UI 8 (Android 16). While the latest version doesn’t radically overhaul the interface compared to its predecessor, it adds several refinements and thoughtful features. Galaxy users get enhanced customizations, smoother animations, new AI tools, camera upgrades, and more.

Together, these improvements aim to streamline usability while enhancing Samsung’s growing ecosystem of AI-powered tools. For beta testers, the final update package is relatively small, weighing only a few hundred megabytes. However, users upgrading from One UI 7 will see a much larger download, weighing around 4GB.

With this release, One UI 8 is available for all flagship models launched in 2025 and S2024. Samsung should now shift the focus to older flagships, while also covering mid-range devices.
