The Galaxy S24 series is now part of the One UI 8.5 beta program
One UI 8.5 beta for Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra carries the firmware version ZZCD. The build weighs over 4.4GB, though the exact size may vary depending on the model and region. Alongside bringing a major overall upgrade to the system, it also packs the March 2026 patch, which improves device security.
To participate in the beta program, you will need to enroll through the Samsung Members app. After opening the app, you should see the beta program banner. From there, you can register your Galaxy S24 device. Now, head over to this path: Settings > Software update > Download and install. Finally, hit Install Now and start exploring the new features.

Based on Android 16, One UI 8.5 brings a refined user interface with a host of smarter tools. For example, we see a floating pill-shaped navigation bar in some system apps. The Photo Assist tool now lets continuous editing without requiring users to save each version manually. The Quick Share feature offers smarter suggestions that can recognize people in photos.
As of now, it’s difficult to tell how many beta phases the Galaxy S24 series will go through, but this release lays the groundwork for the final stable build. We’ll keep an eye on the latest developments and let you know. Meanwhile, the company has pushed the eighth One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series.
