Samsung may return to Computex Taipei after 13 years. The company reportedly plans to attend the expo this year for the first time since 2012. The 2025 edition of Asia’s largest IT exhibition will take place from May 20 to May 23 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.

Samsung to make a comeback to Computex Taipei in 2025

Computex is one of the world’s largest computer and technology trade shows. Held annually in Taiwan, Samsung last participated in the event in 2012. It looked like the Korean giant had permanently left the IT expo, as it continued to attend other shows like CES and IFA. However, it might have had a change of mind lately.

According to the Korean media, Samsung plans to showcase AI-powered semiconductor solutions at Computex 2025. The company wants to exhibit its advanced high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips in front of global tech giants. While it has been a global leader in the semiconductor industry, Samsung has failed to stamp its authority in this space in the AI era.

Samsung struggled to obtain NVIDIA’s approval for advanced HBM chips, a huge setback for a company of its stature. NVIDIA is the world’s largest maker of AI chips, so its approval is a major win for any firm. The Korean conglomerate now appears ready to leverage Computex as a platform for showcasing its latest advancements.

SK Hynix, another Korean firm and one of the biggest companies in the memory industry, is also expected to attend Computex 2025. The company will reportedly showcase next-generation HBM4 solutions at the event. Samsung’s reappearance at Computex could signal its intent to strengthen its semiconductor business and AI ecosystem, going head-on with arch-rivals.

The event will surely provide a key opportunity for Samsung to demonstrate its innovations, establish new partnerships, and reinforce its position in the competitive AI hardware space. Stay tuned for more updates as Computex 2025 approaches.
