Samsung Releases October 2025 Security Update for Galaxy Z Fold 7

Samsung continues to push its October 2025 security update for all eligible Galaxy devices. In the latest, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is picking up the update, bringing improved security. The update is currently live in South Korea, with a global rollout expected in the coming days.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 grabs Samsung’s October 2025 security update

The October 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 carries build version: F966NKSS5AYJ3. The size of the OTA package is around 535 MB. So, if you live in South Korea and have the Z Fold 7, you can install the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Make sure to restart your device so the patch is correctly applied to the system.

As usual, the update brings the latest security enhancements to protect your device from newly discovered threats. Samsung has already confirmed that its October 2025 security patch addresses 34 security flaws. This includes 14 high-severity Android OS flaws and 20 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs). For example, the update fixes a Samsung DeX issue that previously allowed attackers to access the recent app list. It also fixes flaws across Samsung’s core components, such as the fingerprint trustlet, contacts, KnoxGuard, and Knox Enterprise.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the company’s most advanced foldable to date. The phone arrived with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. While the latest security patch doesn’t bring any new features, the upcoming One UI 8.5 update will bring a ton of improvements. It may enter the beta phase by the end of November 2025. It’s unclear whether the Z Fold 7 will be part of the program, but odds are high. We’ll learn about it in the coming weeks.
