Samsung Records 3X Profit Jump in Q4 2025, Thanks to Memory Chips

Samsung has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2025, and they look strong. The company saw its Q4 operating profit triple compared to the same period last year. This is mainly because of the robust demand for memory chips used in AI servers and the higher semiconductor prices.
Samsung saw solid performance in Q4 2025, thanks to its memory business
In the quarter ended December 31, 2025, Samsung posted consolidated revenue of KRW 93.8 trillion and operating profit of KRW 20.1 trillion. These figures are the highest ever recorded in a single quarter. In Q4 2024, the company reported revenue of KRW 75.8 trillion and operating profit of KRW 6.5 trillion. Its Q4 profits more than tripled year-on-year, which doesn’t happen often.
Samsung said its Device Solutions (DS) Division recorded KRW 44.0 trillion in revenue and KRW 16.4 trillion in operating profit in Q4 2025. Unsurprisingly, the company’s memory business played a key role in profit growth. It secured great profitability by selling more high-value-added products such as HBM, server DDR5, and enterprise SSDs.
However, Samsung saw a drop in its System LSI Business due to weaker seasonal demand and changes in customer product schedules. The Foundry Business succeeded in increasing revenue thanks to strong customer demand, but saw limited improvement in earnings.
Meanwhile, Samsung Display Corporation posted KRW 9.5 trillion in revenue and KRW 2.0 trillion in operating profit. Strong smartphone demand and expanding sales in IT and automotive displays helped to boost earnings. Likewise, the large display business recorded revenue growth from year-end seasonal demand.
Samsung’s Mobile eXperience (MX) and Networks businesses reported KRW 29.3 trillion in revenue and KRW 1.9 trillion in operating profit. The company says it will offer Agentic AI experiences in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. As such, it will be able to strengthen its leadership in AI smartphones in 2026.
The Visual Display and Digital Appliances businesses posted an operating loss of KRW 0.6 trillion in Q4 2025. The reason is that stiff competition continued to pressure margins despite solid sales of premium Neo QLED and OLED products (posted KRW 14.8 trillion in revenue). Samsung subsidiary Harman saw KRW 4.6 trillion in revenue and KRW 0.3 trillion in operating profit.
Speaking of the full 2025 performance, Samsung reported annual revenue of KRW 333.6 trillion and operating profit of KRW 43.6 trillion. The company recorded operating profit of KRW 6.7 trillion in Q1, KRW 4.7 trillion in Q2, and KRW 12.2 trillion in Q3 2025.
