Samsung Quietly Launched Galaxy A17 5G — Pre-order Live

Samsung may have quietly launched the Galaxy A17 5G, a 5G-enabled budget smartphone. The device is now available for pre-order in select European markets, although an official announcement has not been made yet. The listing confirms its design, colors, and price, among other things.

Samsung has listed the Galaxy A17 5G for pre-order on its official website in Ireland. The phone is priced at €239 (approx. $280) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. It should also come in more memory configurations, possibly going up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The handset is available in Black, Blue, and Grey colors and ships by August 18, which is when a wider launch may happen.

This official listing doesn’t include the full spec sheet, suggesting that someone jumped the gun and listed the product prematurely. However, leaks have already revealed pretty much everything about the Galaxy A17 5G. The device features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has an Infinity-U notch housing a 13MP selfie camera.

At the core of this phone is Samsung’s 5nm Exynos 1330 chipset and One UI 7 software based on Android 15. It is eligible for six years of OS and security updates. For photography, the Galaxy A17 5G sports a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). The setup also includes a 5MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro camera.

The phone draws power from a 5,000mAh battery, which should deliver more than a full day of usage. It supports 25W fast charging via USB-C, though a compatible charger may not be included in the box, depending on the region. The Galaxy A17 5G also carries an IP54 rating and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Samsung may officially announce this phone soon, opening sales in more markets.
