Samsung Pushes Second One UI 8 Watch Beta to Galaxy Watch 5

Last week, Samsung launched the One UI 8 Watch beta program for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. The company has now followed up with the second beta build for the lineup. The latest release brings noticeable performance refinements and important fixes for users participating in the beta program.
Galaxy Watch 5 series gets second One UI 8 Watch beta update
First spotted by Aptivi, One UI 8 Watch Beta 2 for the Galaxy Watch 5 series carries two major changes. The official changelog mentions general performance optimizations to make the watches feel smoother and more responsive during daily use. The update also resolves a time-related issue that previously caused incorrect clock behavior when daylight saving time (DST) was enabled.
Alongside these fixes, the new firmware includes the October 2025 security patch. Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro users enrolled in the beta program can install the new build (ZYK4) through the Galaxy Wearable app. Unfortunately, the beta program remains locked to Samsung’s home country, South Korea. Users in other regions must wait for the stable release.
Speaking of which, the update may arrive before the end of the year. Samsung is expected to roll out One UI 8 Watch to the Galaxy Watch 6 series later this month, followed by the Watch 5 duo. The Watch 4 and Watch FE are also eligible for the Wear OS 6-based update. These models may not get beta programs, though. Samsung could directly push the stable build when ready.
Debuted with the Galaxy Watch 8 series, One UI 8 Watch brings smoother performance, smarter health tracking, and a more refined overall experience across. You’ll notice faster app launches, more fluid animations, enhanced battery efficiency, and many other meaningful improvements. Samsung has also introduced new health features and polished existing ones to make health data easier to understand at a glance.
