Samsung Pushes Second One UI 8 Beta Update to Galaxy A55 and A54

Samsung’s One UI 8 “stable” party is officially underway, with the big Android 16 update now available for the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge in Korea. A global rollout is expected soon. Meanwhile, the company is expanding the beta testing for other devices, with the Galaxy A55 and A54 now receiving their second beta update.
Galaxy A55 and A54 get One UI 8 Beta 2 with bug fixes
The rollout has begun in India and South Korea, arriving just a few weeks after the first beta went live. The update for the Galaxy 54 carries the build versions ZYI3 or ZYI4, depending on the market, while it’s ZYI7 for the A55. It’s an approx. 300MB release that focuses primarily on bug fixes and stability improvements, ironing out issues reported by early testers.
According to Samsung’s changelog, One UI 8 Beta 2 for the Galaxy A55 and A54 addresses an auto-complete bug that affected the user experience when entering passwords. These updates also fix an AOD issue with the Smart View Cover, camera crashes in certain modes, and other pesky bugs. Besides the changes mentioned in the release notes, the update may contain stability adjustments for a smoother beta experience.
As with other September updates, Beta 2 also includes the latest Android security patches, ensuring Galaxy A55 and A54 testers stay protected while running pre-release software. This month’s security release contains fixes for over 80 vulnerabilities, many of which are critical flaws. Samsung has already pushed these security patches to a bunch of other devices.
This update is rolling out over-the-air to users enrolled in the One UI 8 Beta Program in India and Korea. They can check for the new build by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the beta builds stabilize, Samsung will push the stable version worldwide. The update should be available sometime in October.
