Just days after unveiling the next-generation Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, Samsung has begun pushing the July 2025 security update to its previous-generation foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The update is currently rolling out in South Korea, with more regions expected to follow soon. The Galaxy A04 is also picking up the latest security patch in select markets.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 and  Flip 6 get Samsung’s July 2025 security update

The latest security maintenance release (SMR) for Galaxy devices contains fixes for 40 vulnerabilities across Android OS components, One UI services, and Exynos chips. Samsung started rolling out this update earlier this week, with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series leading the charge. Three more devices have now joined the party.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 are currently picking up the July 2025 security update in Samsung’s home country of South Korea. The new build numbers are F956NKSS2BYFC and F741NKSS2BYFC, respectively. The update only contains this month’s security fixes with no additional changes. Users in other regions should receive the latest SMR in the coming days.

Besides the 2024 foldable duo, Samsung’s July SMR is rolling out to the Galaxy A04, a budget model launched in August 2022. The update is now live in multiple Asian markets with the build number A045FXXSBEYF5, continuing Samsung’s commitment to maintaining software support across all price tiers. It should be available widely soon.

While the Galaxy A04 is on its last legs — it’s no longer receiving feature updates — the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have plenty of life left in them. They are eligible for six more major Android OS/ One UI updates and six years of security patches. The next major release, Android 16-based One UI 8, is expected within the next couple of months. Stay tuned as Samsung ramps up One UI 8 development for these devices.
