Samsung Adds Perplexity to TVs with Complimentary 12 Months Pro Tier

Samsung has announced that it is bringing Perplexity to its TVs and is including a special offer with the app. The new Perplexity TV app will debut on all 2025 Samsung TVs, while support for 2023 and 2024 models will arrive later this year through a software update.
Samsung is bringing Perplexity to its TVs
For those who don’t know, Perplexity is an AI-powered search and answer tool that delivers information in real time. It also lets you try and compare multiple LLMs in one place, making it one of the best ways to find answers backed by credible sources.

You can interact with it by speaking, typing on the on-screen keyboard, or using a USB keyboard. Your TV suddenly becomes part of the conversation. You could ask it to plan a trip, suggest spooky movies for October, summarize the latest headlines, or build a custom playlist for your next dinner party.
Perplexity can be accessed through the Apps tab or via Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, located behind the TV’s AI button. Voice commands are front and center, but typing is always an option if you prefer to stay quiet.
You get 12 months of free Perplexity Pro subscription
Samsung and Perplexity are offering a free Perplexity Pro subscription, redeemable by scanning a QR code within the app. The Pro tier unlocks advanced AI models, including GPT-5, Claude Sonnet 4.5, and Gemini 2.5 Pro, as well as features like Research Mode for in-depth reports and image generation.
“The first-of-its-kind Perplexity AI-powered app, now available only on Samsung TVs, broadens our Vision AI Platform offering for a more unique and personalized user experience,” said Dan Glassman, Senior Director & Head of New Business Development for Samsung Electronics.
Commenting on the announcement, Perplexity’s VP of Business, Ryan Foutty, said: “Samsung is the number one television brand in the world, and we are excited to bring the functionality that Perplexity users know and trust to Samsung’s television screens and device owners around the world.”
