Samsung has quietly unveiled its latest microSD card line, the P9 Express. The company says it is designed for gamers and creators who require high speed. It also claims to transfer data much faster than standard UHS-I microSD cards, thanks to the use of PCIe and NVMe technology.

Samsung is offering the P9 Express microSD cards in 256GB and 512GB variants

The P9 Express is ideal for players who download large games or DLC packs that quickly fill console storage. It also works well for households where multiple people share a console. Samsung will offer the P9 Express microSD cards in 256 GB and 512 GB versions. Sadly, there’s no 1TB variant at the moment.

When paired with a compatible SD Express interface, the card can reach sequential read speeds of up to 800 MB/s. That is about four times faster than standard UHS-I cards. This speed also makes it useful for content creators, including video editors, who regularly move or edit large files.

Samsung has added features like Host Memory Buffer (HMB), which uses the device’s memory to speed up data access, and Dynamic Thermal Guard (DTG) to keep the card cool under heavy use. The P9 Express also offers strong protection against water, dust, drops, X-rays, and extreme temperatures, keeping files safe in any situation.

The card will reach stores worldwide in November. The 256 GB version costs £58.59, while the 512 GB version is £99.99. For those interested in buying one in the US, we’ll share more details once they are ready to ship starting Nov 4.
