Samsung has been testing its next-generation OS, One UI 8, internally. Thanks to developers and enthusiasts, we now have an early look at what Samsung might bring to the Galaxy family with the One UI 8. Among other changes, we might see a notable visual overhaul of the weather app.
One UI 8 will bring a new look to the Weather app
X user Gerwin van Giessen recently managed to install the One UI 8 Weather app on their phone, revealing the latest interface and animations. The good thing is that you can also try out the unreleased app if you install the APK file on any compatible device, including Galaxy devices running One UI 7. However, we don’t recommend sideloading APK files onto your devices unless necessary.
In comparison to the One UI 7 version, the upcoming version of the Weather app features a more visually appealing design. The most notable improvement is the animated scenes where the images on the screen change depending on the real-time weather conditions. It is worth noting that the background in the current Weather app in One UI 7 also changes based on the weather, but it is very simple. Now, in One UI 8, the backgrounds look more realistic with animations.
We also installed the app on our device and found that the animations run very smoothly. The little characters look much better now with expressions that match the weather outside. The character wears clothes that match the current weather situation and walks from the right side of the screen to the center. Apart from this, there are no other changes in the design, and even the information shown looks pretty much the same.
So, it looks like Samsung’s Weather app is getting a major makeover. Samsung wants to make it easier to see and understand the weather with an appealing design. As Samsung is still working on the One UI 8 Weather app, more new things might be added later. We will let you know if an improved version of the app surfaces on the web.
