Samsung’s One UI 7 Update Delay Just Cost Someone Their Marriage

by | Apr 18, 2025 | One UI

One UI 7 update remains one of the biggest revamps in recent memory. You now have vertically scrolling app drawers, the Now Bar, smoother animations, and much more. At the same time, it also remains one of the most controversial topics. Apparently, it’s now creating conflicts among friends, co-workers, and even couples. I never imagined that the lack of One UI 7 update could also shatter marriages until I came across an emotional, heartfelt note left by someone on Reddit.

It’s not a joke, clearly

Reddit user Ascles recently shared a gut-wrenching story that begins with One UI 7 — and ends in heartbreak. If you have a sensitive heart, please step back and check out other important content on our website.

Ascles posted his story titled, “My Wife Left Me Because of One UI 7 😭😭 Help.” Please don’t mistake these emoticons as /s, which Redditors often use to hide the pain. It’s a tragic tale.

According to this now-single S23 user, things began to fall apart when his wife got the Galaxy S25 with One UI 7. She was mesmerized by the buttery smooth animations, the smoother transitions, and possibly the new battery icon. Meanwhile, he was still stuck on One UI 6.1, which she apparently could no longer emotionally or spiritually tolerate.

He believed so much in Samsung that he was ready to bet his marriage. We do such things out of love for a company, and so did he. He promised her the update was coming. First in Q4, then in February, then March, then early April. But as we all know, Samsung’s rollout strategy is less of a schedule and more of a vague suggestion. And now, it’s mid-April, and he’s alone. No wife. No kids. No vertical app drawer. No Now Bar. No One UI 7.

He keeps checking for One UI 7 update

The man hasn’t eaten. He hasn’t worked. He just presses the “Check for update” button like it’s a life support machine. And in a way, maybe it is. Some say love is patient. Clearly, it’s not patient enough for One UI 7 update.

While the rest of us compare changelogs and battery icons, Ascles is fighting for custody and screen transitions. Let this story reach the chambers of TM Roh, and should he ask all the employees to prioritize the One UI 7 rollout. I’m fine if they skip any phones and start with the S23 instead — at this moment, we need to save a family. Save two lovers. Those who loved each other since the very beginning. Peace.

Disclaimer: This is a satirical piece. All characters and heartbreaks are fictional, except the update delays. Those are very real.
