Samsung Now Testing One UI 8 for Galaxy S22 Series, Galaxy S24 FE

Things are moving quickly as we inch closer to the stable launch of One UI 8. In case it slipped your mind, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will ship with Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box. At the same time, Samsung is stepping up testing for One UI 8 across a range of devices. Recently, we’ve seen testing expand to the Galaxy A15, A16, A36, M56, the Tab S10 Ultra, and now the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy S24 FE.

Akhilesh Kumar spotted the development and shared it on X, revealing that Samsung is now testing a One UI 8 build for the Galaxy S22 series. The specific build number is S906BXXUFGYG1.

And yes, the Galaxy S22 series is getting One UI 8. It’s eligible for four years of Android updates. It originally hit the shelves running Android 12-based One UI 4.1, which means the Android 16-based One UI 8 will be its final major update. That said, it’s still eligible for the One UI 8.5 update, expected early next year, along with one additional year of security patches.
Galaxy S24 FE also spotted running One UI 8 in internal testing
Another interesting device that has now been spotted in internal One UI 8 testing is the Galaxy S24 FE. As reported by Tarun Vats on X, Samsung has begun testing a One UI 8 build for the Galaxy S24 Fan Edition, with the build number S721BXXU6CYG1.

As for what One UI 8 brings to the table, there will be plenty of improvements. While the changes may not be as visually striking as those introduced in One UI 7, several useful features are in the works, most of them aimed at boosting overall usability and other enhancements. Are you excited?
