Samsung has shared the notes of its November 2025 Security Maintenance Release (SMR) for Galaxy devices. This latest patch addresses a total of 45 security vulnerabilities from Samsung, Google, and other partners. The update should begin rolling out in the coming days, gradually reaching each eligible device throughout the month.

Samsung outlines its November 2025 security bulletin for Galaxy devices

Every month, Samsung releases security updates to keep Galaxy devices safe from newly spotted vulnerabilities. The November 2025 SMR further strengthens system security, addressing 2 critical and 23 high-severity Android OS issues. The company also fixed 11 semiconductor issues for a bunch of Exynos products.

Apart from Google and semiconductor patches, Samsung has fixed 9 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs). These fixes are exclusive to the Galaxy devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. Users of other Android brands will not get these patches, as they are part of Samsung’s software and hardware components.

As always, Samsung has detailed some of these vulnerabilities to build confidence among Galaxy users. Among the notable fixes is a patch for an out-of-bounds write issue in the fingerprint trustlet. Another fix addresses an insecure default configuration in the USB connection mode that allowed physical attackers to access user data. Furthermore, an issue in libimagecodec.quram.so (allowed remote attackers to access out-of-bounds memory) has been patched.

If you want these security improvements, don’t forget to install the November 2025 patch once it hits your device. You can check for the latest update by heading over to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Note that Samsung may also include the latest security patch alongside the One UI 8 build. However, users who have already received the new software will only get a standalone security patch update.

Meanwhile, Samsung is gearing up to launch the One UI 8.5 beta program by the end of this year. You can check out our detailed coverage of the next major Android 16-based software here.
