Samsung Might Supply OLED Panels for MacBook Pros Starting in 2026

I used to watch Tom and Jerry as a kid. One theory says that Tom and Jerry were actually the best of friends, even though it seemed the opposite. Tom would keep fighting with Jerry so they wouldn’t bring in another cat. No, you didn’t accidentally click on something else. I’m actually talking about Apple and Samsung here.
Apple might finally bring OLED MacBook Pros, and Samsung will make it possible
Despite being fierce rivals in the tech world, Apple and Samsung have a long history of cooperation, especially when it comes to displays. Now, it looks like Samsung is gearing up to supply OLED panels for Apple’s MacBook Pro starting in 2026, according to market researcher Omdia (via AppleInsider).

Samsung has been the go-to OLED supplier for Apple’s iPhones, iPad Pros, and Apple Watches for years. Expanding this partnership to MacBooks only deepens their relationship. Samsung’s experience with OLED panels for laptops means it’s ready to help Apple deliver much brighter MacBook Pros.
Samsung has been quietly perfecting OLED panels for laptops other than Apple’s, so it’s no rookie when it comes to big-screen tech. Switching to OLED means Apple can trim the MacBook Pro’s thickness and weight while cranking up brightness and contrast. Basically, a win-win for users who want more screen for less bulk.
Rumor has it the MacBook Pro may say goodbye to its notch and hello to a pill-shaped or hole-punch camera cutout, much like the iPhone. If so, Apple might finally bring Face ID to its laptops.
This deal could be a gold mine for Samsung. Apple moves millions of MacBooks every year, and being the go-to OLED supplier means Samsung’s revenue charts might look as bright as its displays. Meanwhile, the MacBook Air fans will have to wait a bit longer, with OLED possibly arriving around 2029.
