It looks like Samsung is quietly gearing up for a potential return to the Russian market. The company has ramped up its trademark registration process in the country. While it has not said anything about resuming operations in Russia, this move hints at early groundwork for a comeback.

Samsung filed several new trademarks in Russia

Back in March 2022, Samsung suspended shipments of its products to Russia after the outbreak of the Ukraine war. The company also stopped operations at its only manufacturing facility in the country’s Kaluga region due to a shortage of key components. Since then, it has remained officially missing from the Russian market.

However, Samsung’s recent trademark filings now suggest the company’s latest intention in Russia. According to a report from TASS, the company has registered two trademarks in the country. The trademarks in question are for Samsung Neo QLED and MovingStyle. The firm submitted the trademarks to Russia’s Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) in August 2024 and April 2025, respectively.

Both trademarks come under Class 9 of the International Classification of Goods and Services, which includes a host of electronic products, such as televisions and monitors. The registrations will remain valid until August 2034 and April 2035, meaning the company wants long-term brand protection in the Russian market.

Furthermore, this month, Samsung registered two new trademark applications. They are for Samsung Spatial Signage and Samsung ENSS. As of now, it is unclear whether the firm plans to begin sales or manufacturing in Russia, but the move suggests it wants to re-enter the market quickly as soon as geopolitical conditions allow.

Meanwhile, last month, Samsung made available its MovingStyle portable displays in the US, starting at $699.These include MovingStyle (LSM7F) and MovingStyle M7 (M70F). The former features a 27-inch QHD panel (120Hz refresh rate), while the latter uses a 32-inch 4K UHD screen (60Hz refresh rate).
