Samsung may be gearing up to expand its Galaxy Buds family. A mysterious Galaxy Buds Able has recently come to light, suggesting the company has a fresh model in the works. The details are quite vague at the moment, so it isn’t clear what the Buds Able bring to the table.

A mysterious Galaxy Buds Able device appears in the Galaxy Buds app

While digging through the Galaxy Buds app, folks over at Android Authority discovered references to the Galaxy Buds Able name in strings. However, the naming raises questions, as it does not follow Samsung’s regular Galaxy Buds branding style that includes labels like “Pro,” “FE,” or numbered generations. This suggests the Able is likely a codename instead of the final retail name.

The earbuds carry the model number SM-U600. Interestingly, this also does not fit Samsung’s usual Galaxy Buds naming convention, which uses the SM-R numbering for its earbuds lineup. For example, Buds 3 FE carries SM-R420 while the Buds 4 Pro bears SM-R640. So, it is unclear how the device fits into the company’s existing product portfolio.

Things should become clearer when the device appears in listings such as the GSMA database in the coming months. For now, the newly released Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are gaining traction around the world. In fact, the lineup reportedly surpassed 100,000 units in sales in South Korea, with the Pro model performing quite well.

The Galaxy Buds 4 models offer improved sound quality, stronger active noise cancellation, and smarter features. For example, the Head Gesture feature lets you manage tasks like answering or rejecting calls. You can also trigger Bixby even when your phone is locked. Samsung has also redesigned the charging case with a transparent clamshell lid and stronger magnets. If you are planning to buy either the base or Pro model, they are available in the US for $179.99 and $249.99, respectively.
