Last month, Samsung’s latest SmartThings ad suggested that Ballie’s release was imminent. Now, the company says Ballie will make a special appearance on stage this week, hinting that it may release later this week. It looks like the company will stick to its word as it promised during the CES that Ballie will be available for purchase in the US later this year.
Samsung teases Ballie’s release after a five-year wait
Back in 2020, the South Korean tech giant teased its AI companion robot for the home called Ballie. Now it has been over five years, yet the company has not released the product. Finally, the wait is now over. Earlier today, Samsung posted a short video on its Instagram handle saying, “Samsung AI companion, Ballie, will make a special appearance on-stage this week. Stay tuned!” While the company did not specify which stage, the video clearly shows Ballie with the text “rolling onto the big stage this week.” This suggests Samsung is indeed releasing Ballie this week, at least in the US, as promised.

Currently, we do not have any information regarding its price and worldwide availability. But the good thing is that Samsung is making its long-awaited AI robot available for purchase soon. Even if it is initially released in the US market, it should gradually become available in other markets as well. It may wait for users’ response and market demand before releasing it globally.
For those unfamiliar, Ballie is Samsung’s new innovative home AI companion robot. It is primarily a smart personal home assistant that connects to home appliances and helps users. It can automatically drive itself around the house and complete various tasks. The robot automatically learns from user habits and patterns, and will give a personalized service once it learns the behavior. It consists of multiple sensors inside, and they all help in making your home life more productive, as well as entertaining.
