Samsung Makes QuickStar Compatible With One UI 8.5

Is your Galaxy device running the One UI 8.5 Beta, and you’re unable to use QuickStar? If so, there is good news. Samsung has started rolling out a new update for QuickStar that makes it compatible with One UI 8.5. This update should reach all eligible users in the coming days.

New QuickStar update brings One UI 8.5 support

Samsung has released QuickStar version 10.0.00.2, which brings official support for One UI 8.5. As of now, the Android 16-based One UI 8.5 update is in the beta stage (available for Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra). As the company makes system-level changes with every major One UI release, Good Lock modules often require updates to function correctly. This latest QuickStar update addresses that issue.

For the uninitiated, QuickStar lets you deeply customize the Quick Panel to improve your Galaxy experience. As such, incompatibility with the new One UI version could be frustrating for users who rely heavily on customization. However, Samsung has confirmed a temporary limitation in the latest QuickStar update. The “Change quick setting button grid” feature is unavailable on One UI 8.5 devices, though it will be added later.

“Some features have been temporarily removed from this release. These features require improvements, and we plan to re-enable them around the time of the official One UI 8.5 binary release, along with device software updates,” said a GoodLock Manager. The app release note also mentions “Stability improvements and bug fixes,” suggesting that the company has focused on improving performance and smoother operation.

You can update QuickStar by opening the Good Lock app and heading to the Plugins tab. Meanwhile, Samsung continues to work on making other Good Lock modules fully compatible with One UI 8.5. The company has confirmed that popular apps such as LockStar, HomeUp, and NotiStar are still under development and will be released once they are ready.
