If visiting a service center is inconvenient because it’s too far, Samsung will now provide support at its select stores. The company has recently begun testing a new customer support program called Baro Service. The goal is to make customer care faster by allowing people to get help right where they shop.

Samsung brings device repairs right to its stores

Baro Service is currently available in the company’s home country, South Korea, at four locations, including The Hyundai Seoul, Galleria Gwanggyo, Samsung Store Samsong, and Samsung Store Sangdo. If you visit any of these locations, you can receive product inspections and consultations from Samsung service engineers. This will eliminate the need to go to a separate service center.

Baro Service offers either Simple Inspection Service or Harupick Service. The former lets you bring your smartphones, tablets, and wearables to a Samsung Store for an on-the-spot check. The engineer uses diagnostic tools to carefully inspect the device’s condition. If the issue is small, such as attaching a display film, they will do it in the store.

As for the latter, it addresses more complex repairs that engineers can not resolve at the store. Samsung transports the product to a nearby service center for professional repair. After successful repair, the product is returned to the store for pickup, usually within one to two days. The good thing is that it covers small appliances as well, such as vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens, printers, etc. However, while support for smartphones, tablets, and wearables is available at all four stores, you can bring the small appliance to the Samsong and Sangdo locations only.

Baro Service works during normal store hours, making it convenient to visit at a suitable time. You can check out detailed instructions about the service on the Samsung website (www.samsungsvc.co.kr). Over several months, the company will monitor the program by gathering feedback. If successful, it may expand Baro Service to more locations in the future.
