Samsung Launches Exynos 2500 Soon, Exynos 2600 Already in the Pipeline

After a brief hiatus, Samsung looks all set to re-enter the flagship smartphone chipset market with improved Exynos offerings. The Korean firm may soon launch its 3nm Exynos 2500 and follow up with the 2nm Exynos 2600 in early 2026. The latter could be the first 2nm mobile processor.
Samsung’s 2nm Exynos 2600 is on track for an early 2026 launch
Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor globally. Its newly launched S25 Edge also uses the same Qualcomm chipset. The company originally planned to ship some models with its in-house Exynos 2500 in some markets, but poor 3nm yields and performance issues delayed its mass production.
Samsung is now gearing up to use the Exynos 2500 in its upcoming clamshell foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The device may run the in-house processor globally, making it the first foldable to feature an Exynos chipset. A recent benchmark suggests respectable performance, though not revolutionary. The Exynos 2500 may serve more as a strategic showcase of Samsung’s silicon capabilities than a performance breakthrough.
Meanwhile, the company is progressing fast with its 2nm Exynos 2600 development. It has reportedly reached a 40% yield for the upcoming 2nm processor. The yield rate should improve in the coming months, in time for mass production in the fourth quarter. The chip is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026.
Even if not the entire S26 lineup, the Exynos 2600 may power the base model of Samsung’s next flagship lineup. Rumors suggest the company could drop the Galaxy S26+ in favor of the S26 Edge next year. In that case, the Edge model may also run the Exynos chip in some regions. That said, the 2026 flagships are still several months away, and a lot could change by the time they enter production. Stay tuned for more information.
