Samsung’s July 2025 Update Widely Available for Galaxy S25, S24

A few days ago, Samsung released the July 2025 security update for its flagship Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series in South Korea. The same update is now rolling out in more markets, including India, the UAE, and other regions. It should soon be available globally. This monthly patch brings the latest security enhancements from Google and Samsung, aimed at fixing vulnerabilities and improving device stability.
Galaxy S25 and S24’s July 2025 update expands to more markets
The July 2025 patch includes fixes for 40 security issues identified in Google’s version of Android OS and Samsung’s One UI components. While the update doesn’t bring any new features or major functional changes, users can expect improved performance and better protection against potential threats. As usual, the update may also contain minor under-the-hood improvements to ensure smoother day-to-day use.
Following the initial release in South Korea, the July 2025 update is now available for the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, and S24 FE in additional markets. Users in the remaining regions, including the US, can expect to receive the update over the air in the coming days. If you haven’t received a notification yet, you can manually check by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
In Korea, the update carried the build version AYF6 for the Galaxy S25 lineup and BYF1 for the S24. The firmware version remains unchanged for the latest flagships in India, but the 2024 lineup is picking up this month’s security fixes with the build version BYG1. These identifiers can vary depending on the market, but the overall content should remain unchanged globally.
Samsung has already rolled out the Jule SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for a bunch of other devices in various markets. It should soon release those updates globally, patching dozens of security vulnerabilities.
