Samsung is Now Cooking One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S24+

Samsung is expanding the rollout of Android 16-based One UI 8 to more devices. At the same time, the company is developing the One UI 8.5 build for other devices, which will be a major update for them. Recently, Samsung has also begun early development of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S24+.

Galaxy S24+ spotted running One UI 8.5 on internal server!

As spotted by Tarun Vats, Samsung has begun internal testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S24+. The build version in question, S926BXXU9DYIA, is for the international variant of the Galaxy S24+. In the coming days, Samsung may expand internal testing to other devices in the Galaxy S24 series, and we can expect them to appear on Samsung’s servers.

Everything appears to be on schedule, as Samsung isn’t expected to roll out One UI 8.5 before the launch of the Galaxy S26 series. All three models will debut in early 2026 and run One UI 8.5 from day one, as confirmed by multiple reports. We also expect the same.

The recent stream of One UI 8.5 leaks has already given us a clearer picture of what’s coming. Unlike previous reports, this will be a substantial update, with major overhauls in several system apps and a host of new features.

We’ve reported on many upcoming One UI 8.5 features, which we discovered while testing a leaked build. Time will tell how many of these will make it to the stable version at the time of the Galaxy S26 series launch. However, it’s likely that most will be available from day one.

Once the Galaxy S26 series launches, the One UI 8.5 update will likely roll out to the Galaxy S25 series, followed by the Galaxy S24 series. As for which devices will receive the update, it will likely include all devices that get the One UI 8 update.
