Samsung has introduced a new secure chat feature for its employee messaging platform. The feature could allow the company to better protect internal information and employee privacy. This comes after lots of incidents in which sensitive internal discussions and material were leaked online.

Samsung tightens its internal messaging platform with a new secure chat mode

According to a report from The Korea Herald, Samsung Electronics and other key Samsung Group affiliates have tightened controls on how employees can share messages internally. The new secure chat mode blocks a host of actions, such as copying and pasting, forwarding messages, capturing screenshots, and saving chat records to personal computers. Messages also carry the secure chat label so employees know that their conversation is safe.

Samsung says that the feature aims to prevent sensitive business information from being disclosed and to protect employee privacy. These controls are built into the system level rather than depending on employees to follow policy-based guidance. This makes message redistribution technically impossible.

Some employees previously shared sensitive information on anonymous platforms, such as Blind and internal anonymous boards. These included instructions delivered during Samsung Electronics executive meetings. Such instructions could sometimes make their way to the public quickly without context. As a result, Samsung has taken this step to prevent the internal information from spreading.

As of now, Samsung has not announced the secure chat feature via a public statement. The company reportedly shared details only through internal notices to employees, likely explaining how the system works and its importance. While the system helps protect internal business discussions, it fails to prevent leaks of product information ahead of official launches.

Key details continue to surface on the web through supply chain partners and other channels. For example, leaks have already painted almost a complete picture of the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, including official renders and specifications. The lineup will go official on February 25, 2026, at the Galaxy Unpacked event.
