Samsung Internet Can Now Automatically Close Unused Tabs

Samsung has released a new update for the beta version of its Samsung Internet Browser app. It brings a handy feature that automatically closes unused tabs. The update, available through the Galaxy Store, aims to keep your browser clutter-free and improve performance without requiring manual tab management.
No more tab overload: Samsung Internet Beta adds auto-close option
Version 29.0.0.27 of Samsung Internet Browser Beta introduces a new addition to the tab management menu called Auto close settings. This feature lets you choose a specific time frame after which unused tabs are automatically closed. By default, the browser leaves all tabs open, but you can now set it to clear inactive tabs after 7 days or 30 days. This helps in keeping your browsing experience tidy and efficient.
Additionally, you can let AI decide whether a tab should be closed or not. Samsung’s smart tab management closes tabs as soon as it detects that you are not using them. This is especially useful for people who tend to keep dozens of tabs open and forget about them. Leaving too many tabs open can slow down browsing and make finding important pages harder.
This addition follows Samsung Internet’s recent updates focused on usability and privacy, including improved anti-tracking features. The browser app also picked up a UI overhaul a few weeks ago. If you recently updated the beta app, it now gives you the option to stick to the original home page design or try out the new layout.
While seemingly small, automatic tab cleanup is another quality-of-life improvement that many users will appreciate, especially on devices with limited memory. The latest Samsung Internet Browser Beta is available to download now for Galaxy users who want to try the feature before its public rollout. We will let you know when this feature hits the stable version.
