Despite stiff competition in recent years, Samsung continues to dominate the global TV market. The company becomes the world’s No. 1 TV brand for the 20th year in a row. This shows its long-term commitment to innovation while fulfilling customer needs across different price categories.

Samsung’s premium TV offerings played a key role

According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung secured a 29.1% share of the global TV market in 2025. This puts the company at the top in this space in revenue share (since 2006). In the premium TV segment priced over $2,500, it led the market with a 54.3% share. The firm also retained the lead in segments over $1,500 with a 52.2% share.

“When consumers choose a TV, they’re choosing a brand they can trust for years to come,” said SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our 20-year leadership in the global TV market reflects that trust — built on decades of engineering excellence and premium innovation.”

For the past 20 years, Samsung has continued to innovate in display technology to deliver a better TV experience. For example, in 2009, the company introduced LED TVs with a slimmer form factor. In 2011, it launched Smart TVs so users could get a connected entertainment experience. Likewise, the Serif TV in 2015 made home spaces more stylish.

In 2017, Samsung brought the ability to display digital art in the home thanks to The Frame TV. Around the same time, the company launched QLED TVs using quantum dot technology. It debuted 8K TVs in 2018, so users get four times the resolution of 4K screens. In 2020, we got MICRO LED technology that sets new standards for brightness, contrast, and color accuracy.

Now, Samsung aims to launch AI-powered TVs that use advanced processors for solid performance. Thanks to intelligent features, the latest TVs can offer optimized picture, sound, and personalization. Moreover, the company continues to solidify its OLED and Neo QLED lineups.
