If you own a Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring, you know how useful the Samsung Health app is for keeping track of daily activities. Now, Samsung has partnered with iFIT to bring guided workouts, which might be the company’s way of turning the Health app from a simple tracker into a full fitness platform.

Until now, Samsung Health was mostly used for tracking activity, sleep, and workouts. But this new addition gives users proper training sessions they can follow along with. That sounds very much like Apple Fitness Plus or Fitbit Premium. The iFIT library includes seven workout categories: high-intensity interval training (HIIT), yoga, Pilates, strength, recovery, barre, and mindfulness. Each category features expert-led sessions that can be streamed right inside the Health app.

Would you pay $9.99 a month for exclusive sessions from iFIT in Samsung Health?

Galaxy Watch users also get extra integration, as they’ll be able to see live stats like heart rate, calories burned, and workout duration from their watch while following the video on their phone. Every Samsung Health user can try one video per category each month for free. This adds up to seven workouts total. To unlock unlimited access to hundreds of sessions, you’ll need a subscription that costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 per year.

There are also promotional offers for anyone buying new Samsung devices. Galaxy phone buyers get a 30-day trial, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro users get three months, and those who buy a Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, or Watch Ultra get six months of iFIT for free. Unfortunately, current owners of these devices won’t have much luck, since the offer applies only to new purchases. It does seem a bit unfair.

In a statement, Samsung’s USA’s SVP of Mobile Product Management, Drew Blackard, said:

“Our collaboration with iFIT highlights Samsung’s unwavering commitment to preventive health and fitness for all. Through Samsung Health, we aim to provide highly personalized fitness experiences that empower individuals to adopt healthier behaviors and enhance their well-being. By integrating iFIT’s engaging workout content created by professional trainers, we are jointly shaping the future of personalized connected fitness.”
