Samsung’s One UI 8 development is picking up momentum amid rumors of a beta release later this month. Shortly after the first beta build for the Galaxy S25 Ultra surfaced on its servers, new internal test builds have been spotted for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6. The new version may debut in July.

The newly spotted internal One UI 8 test builds, discovered on Samsung’s software server, carry version numbers F741BXXU2CYE9 for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and F956BXXU2CYE9 for the Fold 6. While these builds aren’t intended for public beta testing, the company is seemingly hard at work getting the update ready for public release.
As mentioned above, Samsung has already developed a One UI 8 beta build for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is probably testing this build internally before a public rollout. Recent rumors suggest the 2025 flagship lineup will get a beta update in the third week of May. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 may also get beta updates a few weeks later, possibly in June.
Or maybe Samsung will keep One UI 8 beta limited to the Galaxy S25 series for a few months, like how One UI 7 beta was exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series for three months. The plan might be to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 with One UI 8 out of the box, and then expand beta programs to more devices.
Either way, Samsung looks set to officially release One UI 8 very soon, albeit in a beta version. Even if we do not get a beta update this month, chances are high that it will arrive in June. Meanwhile, leaks keep revealing more about what appears to be a refinement-focused update rather than a One UI 7-like overhaul.
Based on leaks, One UI 8 could bring design tweaks across system apps for a more polished visual feel. It will also enhance several existing features and apps.
