Samsung Galaxy Weekly Updates Roundup (March 15-22)

This week was quite exciting for Galaxy users, but it also brought some bad news. Samsung is preparing the One UI 8.5 beta release for more devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Tab S11 series. At the same time, the One UI 8.5 Beta 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series did not arrive this week. The first One UI 9 build for the Galaxy S26 lineup also appeared on servers. Last updated on March 22.
One UI 8.5 beta testing expands, stable release may be delayed, March patch rolls out
Starting with the Galaxy S26 series, it has now appeared with its first One UI 9 build. The update is expected to debut alongside the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z Wide Fold around July or August this year. A beta program for the Galaxy S26 lineup could also go live a month or two before the stable release.

The Galaxy S25 series has been spotted with a new One UI 8.5 beta build on test servers. This build could arrive as One UI 8.5 Beta 8 next week. However, no rollout happened this week. Samsung may label it as Beta 8 in regions like Korea, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom, while India and Poland could see it as Beta 7.
One UI 8.5 beta program could soon go live for more models
Samsung is expanding its beta program; the first One UI 8.5 beta builds for the Galaxy S24 series have now appeared on servers. Interestingly, the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S25 FE are also expected to join the beta program, as beta builds and forums have gone live in a few regions. This is a good move, as it brings better support for Fan Edition devices.
Samsung has also started testing on its latest foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 have appeared with early One UI 8.5 beta builds. These models are very likely to receive the beta program soon. The Galaxy Z TriFold has also been spotted, although its chances of getting a full beta rollout still look uncertain.

On the tablet side, the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra have appeared with One UI 8.5 beta builds on Korean servers. There are also chances that the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra could join the beta program alongside the Tab S11 lineup. Overall, Samsung seems to be taking beta testing much more seriously this time.
However, there is a downside. With such a wide beta rollout, the stable release may get delayed. The One UI 8.5 stable update could arrive around early May for the Galaxy S25 series, or even later. This extended beta timeline could also overlap with the One UI 9 beta program and its release.
