This week was quite busy in terms of update activity. Samsung began rolling out the February 2026 security patch last week, and this week the company expanded the February 2026 security patch rollout to more Galaxy devices across different models and regions. As for One UI 8.5, Samsung did not release any new beta program for the Galaxy S25 lineup even though new beta builds appeared on the server. Interestingly, beta forums and test builds for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 surfaced, indicating that Samsung may also be preparing a One UI 8.5 beta program for these foldables. Last updated on March 7.

Samsung expands February 2026 security update as One UI 8.5 beta signs appear for more Galaxy models

The One UI 8.5 Beta 7 update for the Galaxy S25 lineup was expected this week, but Samsung did not release it. Instead, new beta builds for the Galaxy S25 models appeared on the test server. This suggests that Samsung may be preparing another beta update, which could arrive sometime next week.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 users were initially disappointed when Samsung started the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 lineup while the foldables did not receive it. However, things may change soon. We recently spotted One UI 8.5 beta forums for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 on Samsung’s India and Korea community pages. Soon after that, One UI 8.5 beta builds for both devices appeared on the test server, suggesting that Samsung is preparing a beta release for them as well. The beta program could go live as early as next week.

For other models such as the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and a few other Galaxy A series devices, there are currently no signs of a beta program.

Samsung also updated One UI 8.5 internal test builds for several eligible devices on the server. However, the upcoming beta programs for more models like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 may slightly delay the stable release. As a result, the One UI 8.5 stable rollout could begin around mid-April. Hopefully, Samsung avoids confusion like the One UI 7 rollout.

A few devices, like the Galaxy A05s, also received the January 2026 security patch in some regions.

If you own any of the models mentioned above, you can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download finishes, tap Install now. Make sure your device has enough battery and is not overheating before starting the installation.

The next few weeks should be quite interesting in terms of update activity, and it will be worth watching how Samsung handles the One UI 8.5 beta and stable rollout.
