Samsung Galaxy Weekly Update Roundup (Feb 8-15)

This week was quite active for Samsung. Like the past few weeks, we saw several Galaxy S26 series leaks. Alongside that, One UI 8.5 Beta 4 went live unexpectedly, and the first One UI 9 testing builds also surfaced on Samsung’s servers. At the same time, the January 2026 security patch expanded to more Galaxy devices. However, even though we are already in the second week of February, Samsung has not yet started rolling out the February 2026 security patch yet. Last updated on February 15.
One UI 8.5 Beta 4 goes live, One UI 9 testing begins and January patch expands
Samsung suddenly released the One UI 8.5 Beta 4 update for the Galaxy S25 series after weeks of delay. The update was not expected, but the company finally pushed it out. It is labeled as One UI 8.5 Beta 4 in Korea, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In India and Poland, it arrived as the third One UI 8.5 beta update. More beta releases could take place soon, as new One UI 8.5 beta test builds have already appeared on servers.

As for One UI 8.5 testing, Samsung updated One UI 8.5 internal builds for several Galaxy devices. Only a few eligible models are left to surface with their One UI 8.5 builds, and they should appear in the coming weeks.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 were spotted Samsung’s servers with the first One UI 9 build. This confirms that Samsung has started One UI 9 development. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 also appeared with its first One UI 9 build, making it the first already launched device to show signs of the new version. Samsung may introduce One UI 9 around July or August alongside its next foldables at a Galaxy Unpacked event.
