We are now less than a week away from the Galaxy Unpacked. This week, we saw multiple Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Buds 4 series leaks. As Samsung shifts focus to the big event, update activity has slowed down sharply. In fact, this week marked one of the slowest rollout periods in months. The February 2026 security patch has still not rolled out, even though we are already in the third week of the month. Surprisingly, Samsung released the One UI 8.5 Beta 5 update for the Galaxy S25 lineup and also started One UI 8.5 testing for new models. Last updated on February 21.

One UI 8.5 Beta 5 rolls out while February patch remains pending

Samsung unexpectedly pushed the One UI 8.5 Beta 5 update for the Galaxy S25 series. The rollout took place in Korea, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In India and Poland, the same update is labeled as Beta 4. New test builds have already appeared on servers, hinting at a possible Beta 6 release in the coming weeks.

Samsung also began One UI 8.5 testing for the Galaxy F70e on the day of its first sale. The upcoming Galaxy M17e has also joined testing. One UI 8.5 will be the first feature update for both devices. However, only a few test builds were updated this week.

The January 2026 security patch rollout remained very slow. Samsung appears to be prioritizing Galaxy Unpacked, scheduled on February 25. The January 2026 patch fixes 55 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and partners. This week, only a few devices received it. The Galaxy M14 4G got the update in India, while the Galaxy A06 4G received it in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

We only track the first update release for each model and major regional rollouts every week. If your device is not listed, you can DM me on X at @Mohammed_K_2010.

The February 2026 patch is still pending. It will fix 37 security vulnerabilities. Samsung may begin its rollout after the Galaxy Unpacked event.

If you want to check for the January 2026 security patch, you can do so by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. After the download finishes, tap Install now. Make sure your device is not overheating and has enough battery before installing the update.
