Samsung Will Offer Two-Year Warranty for Domestic Galaxy Tablets

When a brand gives a longer warranty on its product, it makes us feel more confident in our purchase. Samsung is extending the warranty period for Galaxy tablets in its home country, South Korea. The company will provide a two-year warranty for tablets sold domestically, giving users more peace of mind.

Galaxy tablets in South Korea to offer a two-year warranty from next year

As of now, Samsung offers a one-year warranty for its tablets sold in South Korea. This is shorter than the two-year warranty offered in many other countries, which seems unfair to Korean consumers. During the audit in 2024, Kim Hyun, a Democratic Party member of the National Assembly’s Science and ICT, pointed out the importance of equal treatment for consumers. “The domestic warranty period for Samsung Electronics’ tablet PCs is one year, but in some overseas countries, such as France, the UK, and Italy, it is two years, one year longer than the domestic warranty period,” Kim said.

Thankfully, Samsung has now decided to extend the warranty period for its tablets in South Korea. The announcement (via ETNews) came during the recent parliamentary audit of the Ministry of Science and ICT held at the Sejong Government Complex. Starting January 1, 2026, if you purchase a Galaxy tablet, you will receive a two-year warranty. This means if something goes wrong with your device within the warranty period, you can get repairs or replacements for free.

In the US, Samsung offers a one-year standard warranty for tablets covering manufacturing defects. However, the company is unlikely to extend this period unless the US government introduces a policy for longer warranties. This year, Samsung launched several Galaxy Tab S series tablets, including Tab S10 FE, Tab S10 FE+, Tab S10 Lite, Tab S11, and Tab S11 Ultra.
