While the Galaxy S25 Edge is grabbing most of the spotlight, Samsung isn’t stopping there. The company is also preparing to launch the Galaxy S25 FE, the fifth model in the S25 lineup. Expected to arrive later this year, a fresh leak revealed new details about this “affordable flagship.”
Fresh Galaxy S25 FE info hit the rumor mill
In January, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra as its latest flagship offerings. It is now gearing up to add a fourth model, the S25 Edge. The new model arrives in the first half of May, sitting between the Plus and Ultra. It focuses on a slim body, with a rumored thickness of just 5.84mm. While the S25 Edge is slimmer than any Samsung smartphone yet, it still packs flagship-grade specs.
Meanwhile, Samsung is silently working on the Galaxy S25 Edge, planning to introduce it in the second half of 2025. The Fan Edition lineup mixes premium features with affordability. The company cleverly cuts corners to offer a near-flagship smartphone experience without needing to break the bank.
While details about the Galaxy S25 FE are scarce, GalaxyClub confirms that the device carries the code name R13 and the model number SM-S731B. The Galaxy S24 FE was SM-S721B, and the Galaxy S23 FE was SM-S711B, so this totally makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is Samsung’s decision to reuse the Exynos 2400e chipset in the upcoming Fan Edition smartphone.
If rumors are accurate, the Galaxy S25 FE will ship with the same processor as its predecessor. This may be because of Samsung Foundry’s failure to produce enough Exynos 2500 or 2500e chips. Poor yields mean the company doesn’t have enough production capacity for its first 3nm smartphone processor. The production volume may be only enough for the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The Galaxy S25 FE is still several months away, so don’t rush to make your decision just yet.
