Samsung’s marketing team does not miss any opportunity to make fun of Apple. Just yesterday, the Korean firm unveiled its ultra-slim flagship, the Galaxy S25 Edge. It has now released a bunch of promotional videos for the phone, highlighting its slim design and key features. One of those videos takes a subtle dig at the iPhone, while showcasing its lightweight build.
Samsung’s balloon ad pokes fun at the iPhone
Samsung used to mock Apple a lot before, though the frequency of such advertisements has recently reduced. Now that it has launched the Galaxy S25 Edge with an innovative 5.8mm thickness and weighing just 163g, the company is back with fun marketing. It makes fun of the iPhone’s comparatively much heavier build.
Despite featuring a large 6.7-inch screen, the Korean firm managed to keep the Galaxy S25 Edge’s weight at just 163g, while the S25+ model weighs 190g with the same screen size. The phone’s lighter weight is mainly due to its thinner profile and the use of a titanium frame.
In its Instagram social media handle, Samsung recently posted a reel to showcase the extremely lightweight design of the Galaxy S25 Edge. In the video, two phones are held up and carried by 61 balloons. We can see the Galaxy S25 Edge on the left and an “Other Phone” on the right, which is an iPhone.

When they begin popping the balloons one by one, the iPhone falls after they pop just 6 balloons. However, the Galaxy S25 Edge still remains afloat with 55 balloons, showing that the Samsung is a much lighter phone. That’s impressive for a modern flagship with a 200MP main camera and a flagship chipset. It’s now time for Apple to revert, though the company generally doesn’t advertise this way, we have to wait for the iPhone 17 Air.
