Future Galaxy Phones Could Bring Vibe Coding for Apps and Customization

The Galaxy S24 series that launched in early 2024 introduced Galaxy AI. Since then, Samsung’s been steadily piling on more features. Some of which are processed on-device, while others rely on the cloud. So much so that it’s now moving away from calling the latest Galaxy S26 series smartphones and instead refers to them as AI phones.

And it turns out key leaders at Samsung are quite interested in baking vibe coding directly into Galaxy devices. Speaking to TechRadar, Samsung’s Won-Joon Choi said vibe coding is something they’re “looking into.” The executive said such a tool could open up the “possibility of customizing your smartphone experience in new ways, not just your apps but your UX.”

Of course, customization has long been Samsung’s forte. So the ability to vibe code an app or tool could open the door to all kinds of possibilities. But let’s address the elephant in the room: what exactly is vibe coding?

In simple terms, you use an AI model and tell it what you want in plain English, and it does the heavy lifting. It’s the sort of thing anyone can take advantage of, even if they don’t know the first thing about coding.

“Right now we’re limited to premade tools, but with vibe coding, users could adjust their favorite apps or make something customized to their needs. So vibe coding is very interesting, and something we’re looking into,” Choi added.

For obvious reasons, Choi didn’t say whether such a vibe coding tool is already in the works. But does seem to be on Samsung’s radar going by the choice of words. And if it does show up on Galaxy devices, it could open the door to build tools and tweak apps exactly how we want. What do you think of this?
