Samsung has already launched the Galaxy F70e and Galaxy A07 5G. Now, the company is preparing to launch another close sibling, the Galaxy M17e. Even though the naming is slightly different, the device is essentially the successor to the Galaxy M06 5G. Samsung and Amazon have already listed the official pages, revealing the launch date and some key specifications. The hardware is mostly similar to the Galaxy F70e and Galaxy A07 5G with only a few minor changes.

Galaxy M17e launching on March 17 with 120Hz display and 6000mAh battery

The Galaxy M17e will be available through Samsung’s official website and Amazon, with launch scheduled on March 17. Samsung has also revealed several specifications on the official product page. As usual, the company is promoting it as the “segment’s smoothest smartphone,” although many competitors offer stronger hardware in the same price range.

Coming to the specifications, the Galaxy M17e features a 120Hz display. While the exact panel details are not fully confirmed yet, it is expected to be a 6.7-inch display with up to 800 nits brightness. The phone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. The device measures 8.2mm in thickness.

Samsung has equipped the phone with a 6,000mAh battery. According to the company, it can offer up to 26 hours of video playback. However, real-world results may vary depending on usage.

The Galaxy M17e runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, which we reported earlier through benchmark listings. The performance remains similar to its predecessor and other sibling models using the same chip. Competitors in this price segment are offering faster processors, so Samsung may face some competition here. The device supports 12 5G bands.

In terms of cameras, the Galaxy M17e features a 50MP main camera along with a 2MP depth sensor on the rear. On the front, the device includes an 8MP selfie camera.

On the software side, the phone runs One UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box. Samsung is already testing One UI 8.5, which could arrive in the coming months. The Galaxy M17e will receive six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, which is impressive for this price segment. It also includes features like Google’s Circle to Search, Voice Focus for calls, and Samsung Wallet “Tap and Pay.”

The Galaxy M17e will be available in Blitz Blue and Vibe Violet color options. The base model is expected to start at under ₹14,000 on Amazon.

That said, Samsung’s budget lineup now looks quite crowded with many models offering only minor differences. It may make things slightly confusing for buyers in this segment. We will keep you updated with the latest information as we move closer to the official launch.
