Last year, Samsung launched its first Snapdragon-powered laptop, the Galaxy Book 4 Edge. While the company introduced the device in multiple screen sizes, like 14-inch and 16-inch, it did not include the Pro model. Now, Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch its next-generation Edge-branded laptops, which could include the Galaxy Book 5 Edge and Galaxy Book 5 Edge Pro.
Next-Gen Galaxy Book 5 Edge might include a Pro model
The Galaxy Book 4 Edge laptop arrived as a part of Copilot+ PCs, which aim to offer a bunch of AI features and bridge the gap between PC and mobile. Noted tipster Anthony (@TheGalox_) recently revealed that the Galaxy Book 5 Edge series could be divided into two models. We are not sure if the tipster is simply guessing or sharing this information based on a source, but this lineup looks compelling.
Of course, the Galaxy Book 5 Edge could be even better if the Korean company offers it in two different models: the Galaxy Book 5 Edge and the Galaxy Book 5 Edge Pro. Here’s what the tipster expects regarding how Samsung should differentiate the specs and pricing between the two models.
The standard Book 5 Edge features a 15-inch QHD AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon X2 Plus processor should power the device, along with configurations of 16GB or 32GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage.
As for the higher-end Book 5 Edge Pro, it should be available in 14-inch or 16-inch sizes with a 3K 120Hz Touch AMOLED display. Samsung could equip the laptop with the Snapdragon X2 Elite processor. It should be available in several memory configurations — 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of RAM, along with 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB of storage.
Samsung allegedly plans a starting price of $999 for the Book 5 Edge, while the Book 5 Edge Pro might start at $1399. The Korean firm already offers a Pro model within its Galaxy Book series. For example, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro and the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360. So, it won’t be surprising if the Korean firm introduces the Pro model with its upcoming Edge laptop.
