Some Galaxy S25 users have been facing a weird issue lately. The Phone app on their phone freezes and the sound stops working when they receive phone calls using Bixby voice command. Thankfully, Samsung is aware of the issue and has provided a quick solution.

Bixby Wakeup bug on Galaxy S25 disrupts phone calls, fix available now

Bixby is Samsung’s smart assistant that lets users control their phones using voice commands. And with the help of the Bixby Wakeup module, users can register their voice so Bixby responds whenever they say “Hi Bixby.” It looks like a strange bug within the Wakeup module in the Galaxy S25 series causes the Phone app to freeze and the sound to intermittently disappear when receiving a call.

In a community post, a Samsung moderator confirmed that version 2.6.11.18 of the Bixby Wakeup app on the Galaxy S25 series is the culprit of the annoying bug. When receiving a call, the bug prevents the processing of voice recognition-related operations. As a result, the phone app may intermittently freeze, and no sound may be heard.

The good news is that the Korean firm has now fixed this issue with the latest version of the Bixby Wakeup app. The moderator wrote, “We have distributed the Bixby Wakeup app (v2.6.13.2) that has improved this issue, so please update the app to the latest version through the Galaxy Store.”

So, if you are encountering this frustrating bug, you should update to the latest build of the app as quickly as possible. The update process is pretty straightforward — you just need to launch the Galaxy Store and search for the app. Note that the latest version may not show up on your device right away, as Samsung may not push it to all users simultaneously. In that case, you may need to wait a few days, but it’s worth it to avoid further call disruptions.
