Samsung’s First Galaxy Glasses May Debut With a 12MP Camera

Yesterday, we got our first look at the upcoming Google Glasses companion app, which may also support Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses. A few weeks ago, a report revealed that Samsung is working on two pairs of smart glasses. One could launch later this year, while the other is expected to debut in 2027.
Samsung’s working on two different Galaxy Glasses, and their model numbers are out
The same source has now returned with more details about these smart glasses. Folks over at Galaxy Club report that the SM-O200P, which could debut this year, will feature a 12MP camera with autofocus. The outlet also revealed that another Galaxy Glasses model carries the model number SM-O200J.
Some of you might assume the P and J at the end of the model numbers are meant to indicate different markets. However, the source says P may stand for “photochromatic”. And there’s little known about what J represents. As a result, both models are likely intended for the same market(s), which could include the US and South Korea.
More importantly, Samsung filed a trademark for “Galaxy Glasses” about three years ago. That may not be the final name, sure, but it’s the closest thing to what Samsung would realistically call these smart glasses, in my view. And Galaxy Glasses does make sense. Think Galaxy Ring. Galaxy XR. Why not?
Galaxy XR was Samsung’s first product in this space, and hopefully we’ll see Galaxy Glasses arrive soon. I can’t wait to see what cool tricks they’ll bring. There’s almost certainly going to be plenty of Gemini involved, which is already well known and something Google strongly hinted at during a recent episode of The Android Show.
