Samsung Finally Begins One UI 8.5 Testing for Galaxy M Series

Samsung has already begun One UI 8.5 testing for several Galaxy devices over the past few weeks. Until now, no Galaxy M series or F series device had appeared on Samsung’s test servers. That has finally changed. The Galaxy M54 has now been spotted with a One UI 8.5 test build. This indicates that Samsung has started testing the update for its M series as well.
Samsung begins One UI 8.5 testing for M series with the Galaxy M54
The Galaxy M54 becomes the first Galaxy M series device to appear on Samsung’s test servers with a One UI 8.5 build. The test build has been spotted in multiple regions, including Vietnam, Thailand, Iraq, the UAE, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, a few other regions have been spotted with the build. The One UI 8.5 test build for the Vietnam region carries the build version M546BXXU9FYL1.
Testing should expand to more regions soon. As always, this does not mean the update will roll out anytime soon. It simply confirms that Samsung has begun internal testing for the device.
Apart from the Galaxy M54, several budget and midrange Galaxy A series devices have already appeared with One UI 8.5 test builds. These include the Galaxy A56, A55, A54, A53, A36, A35, A33, A26, A25, A17 5G/LTE, and A16 5G. Upcoming models like the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 are also expected to launch with One UI 8.5 out of the box next year.
The Galaxy M54 originally launched with Android 13 out of the box and is currently running One UI 8 based on Android 16. Samsung has promised Android 17 for the device, which should be its final major Android OS update.
The stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. It brings new features and UI changes. Eligible devices, including the Galaxy M54, should receive the update in the first half of 2026.
If your device is eligible for One UI 8.5 and has not appeared with a test build yet, it should show up soon. We will keep tracking new builds and update you when your device joins the list.
