Samsung Expands One UI 8 Testing to More Galaxy Devices

We’re now just a week away from the official launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Samsung’s new foldables will launch with Android 16-based One UI 8, which means the stable version arrives next week. After releasing the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, Samsung will start rolling out the stable One UI 8 update to other devices. The rollout will continue over the following weeks.

Samsung is now testing One UI 8 internal build on more devices

Everything seems to be on track so far. Samsung is now expanding internal testing of One UI 8 to more Galaxy devices. Recently, we learned that Samsung is testing One UI 8 builds for the Galaxy A16 and A15. Now, testing continues with the Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy M56 (via Akhilesh Kumar on X). This clearly indicates that Samsung is ramping up internal testing and preparing stable builds for these devices.

Kumar, who spotted the update (h/t: @KeepUPwithOneUI), also shared the build numbers for each model:

• Galaxy M56: M566BXXU3BYF1
• Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra: X926BXXU3CYG1

Samsung will almost certainly begin the One UI 8 stable rollout with the Galaxy S25 series. After that, we can expect the update to reach other flagship models first, followed by mid-range devices.

One UI 8 brings a number of improvements, and we’re looking forward to the final release. While the changes won’t be as major as those in One UI 7, particularly in terms of visuals, there are still several useful features in development, most of which focus on quality-of-life upgrades.

Once the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 launch next week, we should get a much clearer picture of what’s coming. For now, Samsung is running a One UI 8 beta program, available only for the Galaxy S25 trio. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will release more beta versions, or if the current third beta is the final one.
