The One UI 8 stable release is now officially rolling out, and those who pre-ordered the latest foldables are finally getting a taste of it. The rollout is expected to pick up speed in the coming days, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. Meanwhile, Samsung has begun testing One UI 8 on the Galaxy Tab S8 series. That comes right on time, as we move closer to a wider release.

Samsung spotted testing One UI 8 for the Galaxy Tab S8 family

As spotted by Mohammed Khatri on X, Samsung is now internally testing the Android 16-based One UI 8 for the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra. According to Khatri, the update is currently being tested in Europe, Russia, and Turkey. This will also be the final major update for these tablets. The lineup originally launched with Android 12-based One UI 4.1 in early 2022.

The build numbers in question are X800XXU9EYG4 for the Galaxy Tab S8 and X900XXU9EYG4 for the Tab S8 Ultra. For now, users will need to wait for an official announcement from Samsung confirming when the rollout will begin. These devices won’t receive the One UI 8 beta, as that program is typically limited to newer models.

One UI 8 appears to be on track for an early release, so it shouldn’t be long before Android 16 lands on your device. In fact, it’s arriving about three months earlier than usual. And just six months after Samsung rolled out the Android 15-based One UI 7 update.

Despite the quick turnaround, One UI 8 still brings a slew of improvements. However, it remains to be seen how many of these new features will make their way to the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup. For now, all you can do is wait for the wider One UI 8 rollout. We’ll keep you updated as soon as there’s any official word. Stay tuned.
